Install the diio Chrome plugin to record video calls

The diio Chrome extension is the tool that lets you record meetings without needing the bot to be present, and analyze your WhatsApp Web and LinkedIn conversations directly from the browser. It is installed once and stays active for all your uses.

What the extension does

The diio Chrome extension has three functions:

Record Google Meet or Microsoft Teams video calls when you don't want the diio bot to be present.

Analyze WhatsApp Web conversations. When you open or refresh WhatsApp Web in Chrome, the extension captures visible threads and sends them to diio for analysis.

Analyze LinkedIn messages. Same as WhatsApp: when you open LinkedIn in Chrome, the extension captures active conversations.

How to install it

Download the extension directly from the Chrome Web Store here.

Click the extensions icon (puzzle piece) in the Chrome bar.

Find diio in the list and click the pin to fix it. The diio icon now appears visible in the bar.

Click the diio icon.

Sign in with the same SSO you use in the app (Google or Microsoft).

Click "Configure extension" (gear icon).

Enable the toggles you need.

Available toggles in the configuration

Automatically activate diio when opening a WhatsApp chat. When active, diio captures conversations as soon as you open WhatsApp Web, without you doing anything.

Automatically activate diio when opening a LinkedIn chat. Same, for LinkedIn.

Receive notifications for scheduled meetings in Google Meet or Teams. The extension alerts you when a meeting is about to start.

Record my meetings using the diio Chrome extension. Enables the recording capability. Note: enabling this toggle does not start recording automatically.

What you see in the extension popup

When you click the diio icon in the bar, the popup shows one of two states:

No meeting in progress: a shortcut to configure the extension and a reminder of the three available functions.

Meeting in progress (not recording): the meeting name, its duration, number of participants, and a large blue "Record Meeting" button. Click that button to start recording.

What happens when the meeting ends

When you close the meeting tab, the extension automatically uploads the recording in the background. Within a few minutes it appears as a Meeting in "All Conversations" in diio.

If the upload fails (due to connection or file size issues), the recording stays in "Pending recordings" inside the extension configuration. From there you can retry the upload or delete it to free up space.
